Charles G. Tefft
Des Moines - Charles G Tefft was born July 10, 1932 and a graduate of Des Moines Tech High School and a graduate of Iowa State Univ. with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked as Principal Engineer for Iowa Power and Light (MidAmerica Energy) and for the State of Iowa in the Commerce Commission.
Later in his life, having been an active member of the United Methodist Church, he attended the seminary at Northwestern University in Chicago. After which he served as Pastor to the people of George, IA, Archer, IA, and Merril, IA. He fully retired in 2003
He was married to his wonderful wife Daphne for 63 years and is survived by their, 3 sons, Charlie (Beth), Frank (Michelle), and Bob (Cheri), along with 7 grandsons and 1 granddaughter, and 1 great grandson.
The family asks in lieu of flowers to send any contributions in his memory to Hospice of Central Iowa, or the family.
Services will be held at First Methodist Church in Ankeny, Thurs. Dec.7, with visitation at 1:00 pm and service at 2:00 pm.

May God bless you and your family in the passing of such a beautiful husband, father, grandfather, brother & friend to all that knew Charles. Charles was a blessing to our community town of Archer, Iowa and our Pastor here at the Archer United Methodist Church. He will be greatly missed. We are so glad for the time he was our Shepherd. God Bless you dearly, Daphne. We will see you soon.

My husband, Tom Houvenagle, spoke so highly of his Christian co-worker, Charlie at the Commerce Commission. They are celebrating together in Heaven as I write. God bless and keep you until you are all again together with your wonderful Dad.
