Dorothy Horner
Stratford, Ontario - Dorothy (Dottie) Marie Horner passed away at her home on February 4, 2018. Her husband, Joel Peter Horner, passed on May 4, 2016. Dottie is survived by her sons Ronald Peter Horner and Keith Alfred Horner. She was a grandmother to two grandchildren (James and Christine) and had one great grandchild. Dottie was born in Stratford, Ontario to mother Nellie O'Donoghue and father Alfred John Smith (Schmidt). She was the last surviving sibling, the deceased siblings were Marion, Carl, Jack, Otto, Margaret, Nullie and Anni. She immigrated to Michigan in 1976 with her husband and children. Dottie was a devoted wife caring for her husband during his long illness, and always had a positive outlook on the future. She loved the beach and ocean in Florida, and enjoyed watching and painting birds along with indoor gardening. She was also an avid book reader, and enjoyed going to the movies. Dottie was dedicated worker in the Tarpon Springs Library in Florida for 25 years prior to her returning to Michigan.
