Sixty plus memories. So sad. We never heard about his death or funeral. The last time I tried to reach Marty there was no answer and no return call. No one notified us. I finally did a Google search. Rochelle if u can please contact me.

Offering sincere condolences to your family. May God's promise comfort and sustain you during this difficult time. John 6:40.

Marty and I became close friends as eighth graders at Durfee Intermediate in Detroit. I knew his wonderful parents and his brothers. He and Rochelle were very proud of their two kids, Michael and Eliza. I think Marty's heart was broken by the loss of his three younger brothers, and then Rochelle's illness and, finally his own.

Marty was an attorney who went out of his way to help those who were unable to help themselves, and he was a friend I could always count on. His hearing was so bad that we couldn't communicate by phone. Mine is pretty bad, too. He was a Gamma Kappa Chi Fraternity Brother of mine from Wayne State, and I tried to keep in touch by email, but I don't know if he read them. I know that I'll miss him,
but I'm confident that his kids will come through for Rochelle.
I offer my personal and our Fraternity's condolences to the who Grant family.

Marty Grant was one of the most likeable person I ever knew. We met when we were both selling shoes at Baker Shoes in Highland Park, perhaps our freshman year in college. In later years we ran into each other in various places as lawyers. He was always warm, friendly and funny. My sympathy to the family and other friends. I cannot attend his services as I am visiting family in Georgia.
