I am the daughter of Donald P. Cole, MD and Rickie Cole. Your parents and mine were wonderful friends who enjoyed each others company immensely! I met your parents several times and it was always a pleasure. I was so saddened to hear about Dr. Rothwell's death. I always appreciated the Christmas cards that he continued to send to me after my Dad died. I wish you all well, and may you find much joy from all of your memories. In great sympathy, Janet Cole

In 1980 I was standing behind the counter in my book shop in San Francisco when a woman marched in, looked me in the eye and said, I'm your cousin, Barbara Chapman! She then explained that she was the daughter of my father's 10-year older brother, a man I had never met nor knew of before that moment. And so this was to become a fine friendship with Barb and Jack. They were one of my favorite friends over the years since. I always enjoyed their Christmas letters that were a wonderful way to keep in touch until the advent of the Internet. Barb then became a frequent e-mailer from then on. I am sad to now lose them both as they came to occupy a bright shining part of my life. I extend my heartfelt condolences to their family.

I knew Barb & Jack from St. Georges Church in Bradenton, Fl., we went out for breakfast after church, many times. Ron & I had them over for dinner many times. They were going to have dinner at their house, but Barb got sick & they couldn't have us over, it was a standing joke, saying it was a fine way to get out of cooking for us. When they moved from Palmetto Barb sent me a small statue of 2 Scotties. I had Scotties for years, so it was very special to me. We had a lot of fun together so it was sad when they moved. In my heart I knew that I wouldn't see them again.

I knew Jack through his wife Barbara with whom I was close friends through elementary and high school, a friendship lasting over 80 years. Jack made our friendship richer. He was a warm, friendly, compassionate man.
