Cecil Calvin Moon
November 29, 1944 - January 11, 2021
Fort Worth, Texas - Motorcycle enthusiastic, Army veteran, career police officer, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather Cecil Calvin Moon, 76, of Fort Worth, died peacefully in his sleep on January 11, 2021. Cecil, son of the late Lonnie and Grace Hitt, is survived by his wife of almost 27 years, Linda Shipp Moon. He is also survived by his children, Roger Moon of Center Point, TX; Lorri Moon of Sante Fe, NM; Lana Moon of Rhome, TX; and Matthew Moon of Pittsburgh, PA; his stepchildren Courtney Utter, Whitney Mock, and Taylor Morris; his grandchildren Erika Moon, Bret Dickerson, Jr., and Jana McKee, Levi Beauchamp; and his great-grandchildren: Wyatt Pack and Katherine Dickerson.
Cecil was a proud member of the Fort Worth Police Department for 33 years. Count yourself lucky if you ever heard one of his legendary beat stories in his thick Texas accent. The family will have a memorial celebration of his life at a later date, when the time is appropriate. He donated monthly to St. Jude Children's Hospital; in lieu of flowers, please continue his kindness in the form of a donation, or to the Fort Worth Police benevolence fund.

Cecil and I graduated from high school together. He was always a great guy to know. In the last years, I enjoyed being on Facebook with him. I loved reading about his travels on his motorcycle and the pictures he shared. My husband and I use to travel a lot on our motorcycle. My sympathy goes out to all his family members. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. May God bless you!

What a kind man. Cecil’s way of speaking with people seemed effortless. Gentle respect to my grandmother, friendly banter with my parents and humor with my children. He shall be missed by this family. Our condolences to Linda and all family.
