Tallo, Helen
1919 - 2018
Helen Tallo, age 98, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Helen was born February 28, 1919 in Somerset, Pa. She was the youngest daughter of the late John and Annie Lopuchovsky. She was also preceded in death by 6 siblings. Helen married Edward Tallo on December 16, 1939 and was happily married for 72 years, until he preceded her in death on June 28, 2010. Helen is survived by daughter, Diane Tallo and her husband, Spencer Youell; and many nieces and nephews. During WWII she and many other women replaced their husbands at work in a U.S. Steel Mill. She led a crusade for equal pay for women because the women had higher productivity than their male counterparts. She was a fan of The Ohio State University football team. She cared deeply and willingly gave support for family, friends and neighbors. She spent her later years at The Sanctuary at Tuttle Crossing, where she was very appreciative of the care she received. It was there that she found a love for playing bingo and especially winning at bingo. Family will receive friends on Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 2-4pm at Lane Funeral Homes, Madasz Chapel, 6923 Warren-Sharon Road, Brookfield, Ohio 44403, where funeral services will be the following day, Monday, January 22, 2018 at 11am. Our family loved Helen. She was my mother's first friend at the Sanctuary. Her gentle spirit and quiet ways helped my mother adjust the first year she moved into AL. We thank you Spencer & Diane for allowing us to share in the events there with you and just the brief times we were able to visit. We still miss her presence, but know she is in a much more lovely place. Love to your family.

We will miss Helen's sweet smile. Mom and I sat at her Bingo Table recently. She won a small Scarlet and Grey blanket. I had the privilege of draping it around her shoulders. Will miss conversing with you, Diane and Spencer. You were so good to Helen.

My deepest sympathy to Diane Tallo and family. Diane and I shared many conversations about how we could provide the very best care for our Mothers as they grew older and we did that. Both of our Mom's were feisty little girls and both from Pennsylvania. We are so proud of them. Both of them fought for higher wages for hardworking women. Like Diane's Mom, born & raised in Pennsylvania, I, too, fought for higher pay for women by forming the first "White Collar Union" at a large industrial plant in Pennsylvania! There must be something in that "Pennsylvania water"!!! God Bless you, Diane, as you walk down this path of loss & sorrow. Do your best to recall all of the cherished memories & shared love. This will help ease the grief.
With Deepest Sympathy,
Faye Miles

I would personally like to thank Helen & her children; Diane & Spencer, for being such a great friend to my mother, Margie Timberlake. Their friendship & kindness helped my mother adjust to her new nest at The Sanctuary. We love you & will miss you immensely, but know you are in good hands with our Heavenly Father. Blessings & prayers to you, Diane & Spencer. You are wonderful examples of compassion. Linda Timberlake & family

Helen will be missed, esp at Sanctuary at Tuttle Crossing. Always welcoming us to her apartment, we enjoyed seeing her seasonal decorations. Our mother enjoyed playing Bingo every Wed with Helen. We would like to thank Diane and Spencer for being so kind to our mother, Esther and for providing the delightful decorations. Jan Patton and Esther's family
