John R. Schrappe, age 58, of Clintonville, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Mount Carmel St. Ann's Hospital. John was born on March 8, 1959 in Columbus to Donald and Hazel (Lovesey) Schrappe. John received his degree from Columbus State Community College. He loved being a mechanic and working on cars. He could fix just about anything. John spent 27 years at Simmons Mattress Company and several years at Tansky Toyota. John will be remembered for loving his family and the way he helped and cared for others. Preceded in death by his parents Donald and Hazel Schrappe, along with his father-in-law and mother-in-law Albert and Margaret McGreevy. Survived by his wife of 30 years, Margaret "Peggy"; daughter, Kathryn (Bennie Yeck); son, Andy (Emily) King; grandchildren, Evelyn, Benjamin, Eleanor and Lincoln; sister, Donna Schrappe; nephew, David (Jennifer) Schrappe; great nieces and nephew, Elizabeth, Joshua and Samantha; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda and Bob Rhodes; other relatives and friends. A memorial service honoring John's life will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 1-3 pm at One Hope Community Church of the Nazarene, 1389 E. Cooke Road, Columbus, OH 43224. When I think of John, I see him smiling and laughing, which he did a lot. Thoughts and prayers with all of his family.
