I often find myself thinking about Judy (and missing her). She was a very direct, no nonsense person with integrity. In these times of increasing nonsense I miss her rationality and commitment to those around her. A toast to Judy Gentry! And, hopefully, some comfort to the children (now adults) that she loved so dearly.

With deep sorrow I learned of the passing of my dear colleague and former office mate, Judy Gentry. When I first came to Columbus State more than 30 years ago, I had the privilege of sharing an office with her where we argued politics and supported each other as new faculty. What people need to remember about Dr. Gentry is that she was an incredible teacher -- funny, intelligent and held in high esteem by her students. Many times I walked by her class and heard them roaring with laughter. My condolences to the family. I remember young Amy hanging around her mother's office. My thoughts are with you.

Judy and I would have long discussions over assessment and processes. I loved these discussions almost as much I loved having her as a colleague. She was bright intelligent forged in common sense and quite humorous. I was lucky enough to have her serve as a mentor for me and can only hope I serve in the same capacity to others. I will always miss her and hearing her yell Scott Scott as I walked by or made a comment. I'll drink to you tonight Judy. In another life she would have been an economist. I remember how proud she was of both Amy and Sean and how it was always a pleasure to see both of you and how you grew in many ways. I am sorry for your loss but understand your mom made this college and world a much better place for many people
