Unverzagt Maxine J. Prosser (DeLong) Unverzagt, 101, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Joanne's House at Hope Hospice in Bonita Springs, FL. She was a former resident of Columbus, OH before moving to Bonita Springs. Maxine was born July 29, 1915 in Sunbury, OH the daughter of the late William and Celia (Confare) Prosser. She was a graduate of North High School. Maxine retired from United McGill and was former co-owner of Jay's Place, a mom and pop meat market. She was a long-time member of the Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Delaware County Pioneers of Ohio. Maxine loved baking, flowers, reading and genealogy, but above all, she loved her family and friends. Survivors include her daughters, Ruth Ann (Laurence) Toops of Riverside, CA and Barbara J. Osborne of Bonita Springs, FL; grandchildren, Daryl S. Toops, Cathy (Tommy) Thompson and Debbie (Jeff) Patterson; stepson, David L. (Karen) Unverzagt of Gahanna, OH; step grandson, John (Karma) Unverzagt; and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was affectionately known as "Auntie Mac". In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Everett, Russell, Daniel and William and husbands Carl Jay DeLong and John W. Unverzagt. She will be laid to rest at Glen Rest Cemetery in Reynoldsburg, OH. Those who wish may contribute to the Columbus Cancer Clinic, 1699 W. Mound Street, Columbus, OH 43223.
