We have only met Bill recently as neighbours.
A man of definite opinions and an excellent caring neighbour.
Did not hesitate to help when we had a horse tragedy
Will be sadly missed and we regret not having more time

Very sad news to hear of Bill's passing. I'm disappointed to have missed his Funeral as I only heard of this yesterday. Bill was my first boss for 5 years. Working with Bill had a huge influence on my work ethics, and the way I run my business (pure hard work -7 days a week 24 hours a day attitude). Bill was one of the hardest workers and toughest guys I have ever meet. I enjoyed reading Robbie's diesel tank fire story and have hundreds of them like it.
One of my funny memories was traveling through the Manawatu gorge in his 1600 sport orange escort at full speed, I asked Bill are we in a hurry and he replied with time is money. A huge loss of a true legend.

Our sincere condolences to you all. It was a shock to read Bills death notice most unexpected having only recently chatted with him and he sounded in good heart. Ian worked along side Bill in the 70's, he camped with us during this time remaining a good friend and we have kept in contact ever since. Bill was a very genuine guy, kind but straight up and never allowed his injuries to hinder him. RIP Bill we will miss you. Ian & Lois Ferrick.

Our deepest sympathy to Sharon and the boys. Gone too soon after all he had endured after Vietnam. Bill was the original wild mountain man with a great enthusiasm for life, and will be sorely missed.
