Donald Collier
October 6, 1931 - December 10, 2020
Resident of Hayward, CA
Devoted husband to Muriel Collier of 64 years. Loving father to Darrell, Donnie, Cindy, Rhonda and Keith. Grandfather of 6, great-grandfather of 5 and many nieces and nephews. Don was born in McLeod, Oklahoma. He ventured to California as a young boy and made a living milking cows while attending school and playing on the football team. He eventually learned to build automobile engines to the level of "Master Mechanic". After spending time in the military he and a dear friend became partners in Superior Lift Trucks, Inc. in San Leandro, CA and ran an honest business for over 50 years, with sometimes a gentlemen's handshake for a rental contract. Don was forced to retire when he was the last man standing and could no longer work due to Parkinson's disease at the age of 86 years old. He was a gentle giant who treasured his family and friends. He is, and will always be missed forever.

My condolences to the Collier family. RIP Don. I have many memories of Don from when I was a kid and I used to ride my bicycle from Oakland out to Superior Lift to visit my cousin Jim.
