In loving memory of Marilyn Neely who entered this life on March 7, 1950, and peacefully departed this life in her home on January 4, 2021. Marilyn was born in Oakland, California to the late Sidney and Barbara (Beal) Barnes. She was the fourth of five children and is predeceased by her brother, Glenn Barnes.
Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was kind-hearted, loving, and generous. She had a gift of helping others in need, but also provided tough love, words of wisdom, and encouragement when needed. Marilyn loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was a woman of faith and trusted God. She will be forever missed but her family and friends understand that to be absent from the body means that she is present with the Lord.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Lionel, daughter, Lynn, son-in-law, Samuel, grandsons, Julian and Nicholas, siblings, Mike (Yvonne), Sydney, and Terri, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Due to COVID 19, a Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates memorial contributions to Evergreen Baptist Church, 408 W. MacArthur Blvd, Oakland, CA 94609.
