We lived at number 40 and the Hester family at 38.

Nancy was loved and adored collectively and individually by the five of us Reid kids who lived next door. Each of us has countless wonderful memories of times spent with Nancy and between the two houses, where the doors in those days were always open.

My elder brother, John, known to Hesta as Jack' visited her on a daily basis in his teenage years and into early adulthood. He found peace, happiness and solitude in the company of Nancy (and Kevin.) Nancy and John shared a love for the music of the great Slim Dusty. John had a special bond with Nancy, who was integral in his everyday life.

For me, Nancy was a loving guiding light. Despite having such an enormous role in her own family, she always made time for me. She was an amazing listener who was positive, supportive and encouraging always.

I have and will always felt truly blessed to have Nancy in my life. Her selfless love and light will always shine bright.

My love and thoughts are with her immediate family, Denise, Michelle and Peter.

A gentle and generous soul has left us and I wish her eternal peace.

Dear Family of Nancy, I apologise that I will not be able to attend Nancy's funeral. My sincere apologies. You had a much-loved mother and she will be sadly missed. I have a broken wrist and am unable to drive at the moment. Deepest sympathy from all the Sutherland Family. Lilian.
