A full laugh and a sparkle in his eyes, that is how I will remember him. Bill Fenley was a true Texas gentleman. The thing that I loved most about dad was the way he loved my children, his grandchildren. He was present for picnics on the living room floor when it was too hot outside (I think the real reason was that All My Children came on at noon!) he danced many miles with Whitney with her little feet on his, to the theme song to Sleeping Beauty, all the while Whitney looked at him like he was her prince and he looked at her as if she were his princess, and she was. The look in their eyes was the reflection of pure love. Taking Travis to CiCi's and having pizza eating contests and they were both miserable when they left! Sitting for hours in Peter Piper do Travis could play video games and win tickets, which was always celebrated in a big way! Always spending time with Travis was a priority for dad. Some of my fondest memories is when Gram & Grandpa lived in
Pontotoc; it was always an adventure! Baseball games is n the front yard, knowing dad spent hours trying to make sure all of the "sticker burrs" were removed before Whitney & Travis went outside to play, Losing (and then rescuing )baby Carrie in the Llano river, Heidi, Peanut,Peaches, horseback riding, feeding the deer, and roasting marshmallows over the fire are the foundation of so many wonderful memories. Grandpa even taught Whitney how to drive the "old" truck long before she could fully see over the dashboard...did I also mention what a brave man he was! He was known to us as Dad, Grandpa, and Cookie Monster, but mostly as a man that loved his family with his whole heart. I had the privilege of loving him for 33 years. He will always be missed, as he was a constant and integral member of our family, he will never be forgotten because we have many cherished memories and he will forever be loved.
