Ernesto Diaz Jr.
El Paso - On March 30, 2021, Ernesto Diaz Jr., a.k.a. Ernie, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 46 in El Paso, Texas. Ernie served eight years in the Marine Corps as a utility engineer and aircraft mechanic thus furthering his aviation career after being honorably discharged. He successfully owned and operated an aviation maintenance shop in Santa Teresa, NM.
He lived his life by the Marine Corps code of Honor, Courage, and Commitment. He also believed in fulfilling life with passion, "do what you love with passion". Among his was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles. His first was gifted by his wife in which lit the fire behind the ride. Another passion was hiking the Franklin Mountains and Lost Dog Trails with his best four-legged friends. However, his favorite past-time was being with his wife and family.
Ernie's main goal in life was to make everyone he came across laugh and smile; living vicariously through music lyrics and movie lines; lending a helping hand without ever wanting anything in return. His personality along with his charming smile and boisterous laugh was simply contagious. His character was tried and true, his life an open book, honest to a fault, a unique sense of humor and a pure heart of gold. He was absolutely the best son, brother, husband, and father. He was loved and revered by many.
He will be honored privately at his request.
Ernie is survived by his wife Leigh Ann Torres-Diaz; children Damian Folino, Teresa & Anthony Diaz, and step-daughter Jasmine Rodriguez; parents Gloria & Ernesto V. Diaz Sr.; sisters Amanda Diaz & Jessica Ramirez; BIL, Saul (Nacho) Martinez, nieces and nephews Brandon, Alli, Adrian, and Ava "cado"; as well as his grandmother, aunts and uncles.
We will miss you forever, like the stars miss the sun.
Forever in our memories but eternally in Heaven because of your faith in Jesus Christ.
"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."
