The Madrigal's were life long friends of the Campbell's and both families lived on Mt. Everest street in El Paso in the 50's and 60's. We grew-up enjoying the good life during this period of time and remember clearly when their older girls would play records of the Rock n Roll era of the 60's. Bill Jr. would be working on his hot rod and Suzy, Bubba (James), Mary Ann, Mary Lee my brothers Ricky and Ronnie and I would be playing together outside. Bill helped me build a soap box derby car in 1968 and I came close to winning the race. My father, Adrian Madrigal and Bill were best friends and they would take me to see Billy Stevens play quarterback at UTEP and The Bear coach his basketball team. I recall being at the Campbell's house when UTEP won the national championship. The Campbell's were the first one on the block to own a color TV! My father and Step-Mother Ruth were good friends of the Campbell's and spent much time together. As fate would have it, my wife Mary Ann and I went to a garage sale today February 24, 2018 at their old home on Comet street. The women who had purchased the house from them informed us of the passing of Flora and we were both saddened. Flora was always so good to us and will never forget her big smile and twinkle in her eyes when I would see her. She was a beautiful and wonderful person and I will always remember her and Bill. In their former garage, I could see all the cabinets and carpentry work that Bill had built. l saw a poster of Don Haskins "30 Years With The Bear", 1990-91 Basketball poser of Don Haskins that Bill Had hung. I asked the lady who was selling the house if I could have it and she gave it to me! We are so sorry that we were not there for the funeral and we understand during this busy time it would be difficult to call everyone who knew her and Bill but please know we love them and all the family.

A beautiful lady, Flora. I loved the sparkle in her eyes when she spoke of her husband Bill. Enjoyed our visits and shopping together. She is home, at last. God Bless her.
