Betty J. Hoffman, 85, of Wilson Borough, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 25, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born March 24, 1935, in Chincoteague, VA, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Nettie (Simpson) Bowden.
Her husband of 60 years, Harold F. Hoffman, passed away May 6, 2015.
She had been a long-time and active member of the former First Evangelical Congregational Church, Easton, where she served the Lord faithfully as a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher and steward.
Betty was a loving Mom, MomMom and Super MomMom. Faith, family and country were very important to her. She went out of her way to help others including strangers.
Surviving are two sons, Scott D. Hoffman and his wife, Lisa, of Upper Nazareth Township, and Curtis W. Hoffman his wife, Bonnie, of Bushkill Township; two daughters, Debra J. Propsom and her husband, Sam, of Casselton, ND, and Dawn E. Howells of Wilson Borough; two brothers, Clarence Bowden of Atlantic, VA, and James Bowden of Temperanceville, VA; a sister, Bertie Lenn of St. Clair, MI; five grandchildren, Ashley Bellis and her husband, Andrew, Charles Howells, Matthew and Kevin Hoffman, and John Propsom, and two great-grandsons, Jacob and Joel Bellis. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Charles Hoffman; a son-in-law, Donald B. Howells; two brothers, Carlton and Jack Bowden, and three sisters, Madeline Ainsworth, Eunice Fecteau and Indiana Ellerbee.
A calling hour will be held 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday in the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 2101 Northampton Street, Wilson Borough. There is a limit of 12 people allowed in the funeral home at a time with social distancing and masks required. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 a.m. in Northampton Memorial Shrine, 3051 Green Pond Road, Palmer Township. Offer online condolences at www.strunkfh.com.
