Dear Abbott Family, I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Harold. I know he was a wonderful and caring person to his family and friends. May he rest in peace.

To all the Abbott family, our hearts are saddened, Belvidere town has lost a great hero that we've all loved. MY Daddy "Speedy Griffins" police partner, Hardwick street neighbor,
& friend. Thank you Lord, for people like Red. Thank you for the Abbott family that the Griffin family will always love.
Praying for each of you, thank you for being such a blessing to the town of Belvidere, our Griffin family, & especially to my Dad "Speedy".

It's hard to put in words what influence Red had in my life. He was always a man's man. Just to know him your life would never be the same. He was a gentle giant, but when needed he was a protector of everyone. I admired the way he treated my cousin, his wife. He was an example of what a husband should be. WE should all take lessons from him on this. I know I have. Because I never live close after I got out of the service, I looked forward to seeing him in his police uniform almost every year at a BHS football game. He would always see me and we would talk and try to catch up on our lives. He will be truly missed, but in my heart I know he is in a better place and I look forward to seeing him someday. Sandy and my prayers are with Laurene and his family. George "Buddy" and SandySnyder
