Mr. Julian "JuJu" Beaty Hurst Jr.

Mr. Julian "JuJu" Beaty Hurst Jr., age 52, a resident of Louisville, Alabama, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Southeast Health in Dothan, Alabama surrounded by his loving family.

A private family service will be held at Louisville Baptist Church on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Tim Callaway, Rev. Robert Baker, and Rev. Mike Whitman officiating with Glover Funeral Home of Clayton directing. A graveside service for all family and friends will be held at 3:00 PM at the Louisville Cemetery in Louisville, Alabama. All social distancing and mask guidelines will be observed.

Mr. Hurst was born February 11, 1969 in Montgomery, Alabama the son of Julian Beaty Hurst and Judy Elaine Harden Hurst. He grew up in Louisville and was a 1987 graduate of Dixie Academy. He graduated in 1993 from Auburn University with a bachelor's degree in forestry. He was employed as a Forester/Timber buyer for Southern Timber Company for 28 years and was a pecan buyer for Hurst Pecan Company, his family business, since 2012. In school, Mr. Hurst was active in sports and played baseball for Chattahoochee Valley Community College in Phenix City, Alabama. He was a member of Louisville Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Julian Beaty Hurst; grandparents, Ben and Eunice Hurst and James A. "Jack" and Louise Rolling Harden.

Survivors include: mother, Judy Harden Hurst of Louisville, Alabama; brother, Dale Hurst (Clemice) of Montgomery, Alabama; sister, Jackie Hurst Martin (Chris) of Harvest, Alabama; two nephews, Brandon and Beaty Hurst of Montgomery, Alabama; one niece, Mary Katherine Sturtevant of Birmingham, Alabama. Several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Louisville Cemetery Association- PO Box 4 Louisville, Alabama 36048 or The American Stroke Foundation- 6405 Metcalf Ave. Ste. 214 Overland Park, Kansas 66202.

Asked to serve as pallbearers: Jim Fenn, Robert Bennett, John Sloop, Christy Beaty, Brad Hudson, Shug Rowland, Reagan Scroggins, and John "Dunie" Glanton.
