Gail Ulrey Obituary

Gail D. Ulrey
1947 - 2016
Gail D. Ulrey died peacefully May 9, 2016 at Hearts Independent Group Home after a long illness. Gail was born December 23, 1947 at Seattle, the daughter of Frank H. and Helen M. Ulrey. Frank's career as an U.S. Air Force officer took Gail and her brother Lewis around the world to Washington, Texas, Japan, Kansas, Indiana, and Germany as they were growing up. Gail graduated in 1965 from Mountain Home High School, and in 1971 from the University of Idaho. With her new degree in dietetics, she traveled to Indiana University Medical School to complete her internship. Work life was in Southern California where she worked as a hospital dietitian and for the Keebler Company. She is survived by her brother Lewis and his wife Connie and special friend Lee Sobchak, all of Boise. Services will be at a later date at the Center for Spiritual Living.

Such a ray of sunshine...one of my favorite friends in High School! A great laugh...and so generous. Rest in Peace, dear friend.

Gail and I were friends and neighbors during her time in Peru. I have many fond memories of her. When she moved to Germany, she sent me a Christmas ornament that she signed and dated. I have put that ornament on my Christmas tree and thought of her of her each year for over 50 years. I was so happy to find her on Facebook and reconnect with her. May she rest in peace.

Gail and I were good friends in 8th grade at Peru Jr. High School in Peru Indiana. Was sad when her family moved away. She had a slumber party I attend and I now live in that same house where she lived here in Peru. We had just recently re-connected in 2015 and was hoping to see her at our 50th Reunion last Sept. but she didn't come. Prayers of peace and comfort to her family. Susan Cassel Peru, Indiana

I was Gail's roommate at Forney Hall at the University of Idaho 1968/1969 school year. We kept in contact all these years. I always enjoyed her Christmas letters and her stories of her cats. I will miss you Gail!
