It has been many years since I left my home town and started a life elsewhere. Yet, like many, we have fond memories our our childhood friends.
Sometimes we are blessed to have friends that despite time and distance, you can always call and "pick up" from where you left off.
Johnny was one such friend. Our calls, maybe once or twice a year, were wonderful. Of course we talked the man-talk, work et al, but it always went to the next level quickly.
He had ways to make those conversations count, make me feel like he was interested in my journey, our family and what God was doing in our lives.
While his parting is more than sadness can express, I have a treasure in those conversations.
Knowing, this man, I dare say others have such memories of talks, stories, shared laughter.
It is in these that I pray carry you through this season until the time we meet again, as friends and family in a place where I know he placed his hope beyond this mortal life.
Love to you all.

Johnny was a blessing to everybody that was able to know him. Ms Peggy, Michelle and family, and Cindy and family, as you are all so blessed to have called him yours in your own special ways, I pray for your comfort and peace from our God in Heaven that called Johnny his child.

Several years ago I was fortunate to work for the Louisiana Public Facilities Authority; while there I had the good fortune to work with kind, smart, good people. John offered all he had to me help me be successful; he was kind, very smart and just plain good. Public Finance is a tough business; it never showed with John. I appreciate so much his support and friendship. My sincere condolences to his beautiful family.
