June Faulkner-Geller Obituary

Faulkner - Geller, June June Louise Faulkner-Geller age 92 of Grand Rapids, passed away on Tuesday July 28, 2020 at Resthaven Maple Woods in Holland, MI. June was born on June 13, 1928 in Conklin, MI to Walter M and Elsa R (Hessel) Rittmeyer. She was a 1946 graduate of Union High School. June was married to Robert L Faulkner on June 5, 1948, until his untimely death on September 4, 1967. This marriage produced two children Nancy J and R Michael Faulkner. On September 22, 1972, June married Robert F Geller and remained married until Robert's death on March 13, 1995. June was predeceased by her parents Walt & Elsa and a younger sister Betty Jean, along with both husbands. She is survived by her daughter Nancy and Jake Cook and their children Eric M Cook, Jodi K and Eric Bruinsma and Kimberli K and Scott Jones. She is also survived by her son Mike Faulkner and his children, Katie L and Benjamin J Bozek, Michael R Faulkner (Elijah Anthony), Karli L Faulkner (Matt Walker) and Matthew R Faulkner. She is also survived by her former daughter-in-law, Jerri L Faulkner. Great Grandchildren, who had a very special place in her heart, include Alexis VandeWeg, Avery Jones, Jaden, Eli and Naomi Bozek as well as Evan Walker, Zoey and Emma Faulkner. She spent many hours at soccer matches, baseball games, school concerts and ballet performances, all in love and support of her great grandchildren. She never declined to attend a school event. She is also survived by many cousins, but her closest cousin and dear friend was Dawn M Douma. Step-children who survive include Jerry and June Geller, James and Carol Geller, Judith Kazel, Jack and Kathy Geller and Janette Carni. June was employed by Michigan National Bank for many years. She paused her work life while raising her children. Following the death of her first husband she began a new career with Grand Rapids Foam Rubber (Grand Rapids Foam Technologies) where she worked for at least 25 years. A job she loved. When you hear of a person that does not speak ill of anyone, June was that person. She rolled with the times, loved unconditionally and was just genuinely kind to all she encountered. A special word of thanks goes to those individuals that cared for her over the last two years at Resthaven Memory Care. You know who you are and a sincere Thank You to All! Friends are invited to visit with June's family on Friday July 31, 2020 from 10 – 11:30 AM at Heritage Life Story Funeral Home - Alt & Shawmut Hills Funeral Chapel, 2120 Lake Michigan Dr NW. All are welcome to attend the graveside service that will then be held at 12 Noon at Rosedale Memorial Park.
