Linda Grimm Obituary

Grimm, Linda Emory
Feb 13, 2021
Linda Emory Grimm, 72, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Naugatuck, CT passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on February 13, 2021. She leaves behind her loving husband, George B. Grimm of Sarasota, her children, Robert Koenemund of Plymouth, CT, Allison Calca and her husband Paul of Cheshire, CT and Matthew Grimm and his wife Tanya of Colchester, CT. She especially doted on her four grandchildren: Abigail & Jack Grimm and Matthew & David Calca. She is also survived by her sisters, Lucy Perkins and her husband Richard of Westchester, PA and Wilma Gilbert and her husband Ray of Orlando, FL. She was predeceased by her brother, James Emory. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Linda graduated from Henderson High School, class of 1966. Linda was instrumental in organizing class reunions, right up to a 53rd in 2019.
Linda loved her career as a travel agent. She worked many years for Largay Travel in Prospect, CT. She had close ties to her former co-workers, affectionately known as the "Largettes". She recently worked for AAA in Brandon, FL. Her career allowed her to pursue her love of travel. Her last journey in 2019 was a dream trip to Italy and Spain.
Linda was also well known for breeding and raising Yorkshire Terriers. Her "Park Ave Yorkies" were near and dear to her heart.
Since moving to Florida, Linda had developed close friendships with her neighbors at "43 West". Linda was often coordinating parties at the "clubhouse". Linda also had a love of photography, especially nature photography. She had an affinity for capturing pictures of birds and other Florida wildlife.
A memorial service celebrating Linda's life will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to either St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Dear George,
We are truly heartbroken for your loss of Linda. She was such a warm, loving, kind and generous friend. We will forever remain grateful for so graciously sharing our dear little Lily, and most of all staying in her life as her “Grammy”. Our prayers are with you, and we find comfort in knowing she is now in the company of her many beloved Yorkies who were waiting for her at the Rainbow Bridge.

I was so so saddened to come across this!!! Linda was responsible for finding me two of my first Yorkies, two decades ago. Toto & Misty were the light of my life, and changed me forever, and started my live of this breed, so since then I had another one that I lost (Echo), and currently I am owned by three more (Raven, Rex & Riley). Linda´s love for this breed rubbed off on me, and I will be forever grateful for that. They enhance my life beyond belief. The world will be less without you, Linda. I am glad you are no longer suffering, but the world will be less without you! I am sure your furbabies were waiting for you at the bridge.

Linda had friends all over the USA because if the Yorkshire Terrier and brought together other Yorkshire terrier owner. She loved her dogs and
any other dog she came upon. Never heard say anything bad about another Human being - ever! Every year she did push her many friends to donate their no longer needed Yorkshire Terrier items to an online auction in support the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America and did this over numerous years. She had the joy in living her life and she packed in a lot of living in that life. Linda will be missed by everyone Who-she knew and Who knew her. No doubt she was one in a million. No doubt she is in heaven organizing something or asking if anyone has a camera as she was also known for her wildlife photography.

Linda had a lot of friends because of the type of person she was. I never knew her in high school, but after the 50 year reunion in West Chester, I had numerous contacts with her and discovered what a super person she was. My condolences to George and the family. Many of us remember her so fondly.
