Margaret Graf Obituary

Graf, Margaret Jeanne 2/16/1924 - 7/28/2020 Stockbridge, Michigan Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 28, 2020. Jeanne was born in Hastings, Michigan on February 16, 1924 to William and Margaret Hecker. Jeanne was a business school graduate from Eastern Michigan University. She spent her professional life as an assistant to Estee Lauder, Estee Lauder cosmetic company and then working for the City of Ann Arbor Mayor's office. She left the Mayor's office to attend University of Michigan Law School where she met and married her first husband, Louis E. Burke, attorney at law. She married William (Bill) Graf on June 3, 1978. She joined in the operational management and sales of her husband's family business, Rohde Brick and Supply Company, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Jeanne held a life-long passion for horses and dogs. Her greatest joy was time spent raising and caring for her own animals. Jeanne also had a great love for people. She had a gift for connecting with others and making them feel special and at ease with her. She was always in her element hosting gatherings for friends and family and social business events. She also had a gift for connecting with children, as she was a fun and beloved step-mother and aunt and "unofficial" aunt to many of her friends' children. Besides her parents and first husband, Jeanne was preceded in death by her brother William Hecker, Jr and sister-in-law, Mary Hecker. She is survived by her husband, Bill Graf, her stepchildren, Kristen (David) Storey and Scott (Dana) Graf, her step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A private mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial at St. Thomas cemetery is planned for Monday, August 3, 2020. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation in Jeanne's memory to the Huron Valley Humane Society, 3100 Cherry Hill Road, Ann Arbor, Mi, 48105

So sorry to hear of Jean´s passing. I knew her as a small child. My step-dad´s father (Herbert Beisiegel) was a close friend of Louis and Jean and they lived next to us in Dexter. I remember walking to her house to see her dogs. We had one of her pups and when we moved to Florida she kept Spooky for us for many years. She let me play with her antique China doll and always invited me over. She was a lovely person and I send her family my heart felt condolences.
