Alma Pollock
Enjoyed spending time with her beloved family
Alma Pollock, 95, of Fairfield, N.J., peacefully passed away with her loving family by her side, on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at her home.
Born and raised in Newark, N.J., Alma resided in Fairfield for many years. She worked as a supervisor in the Essex County Juvenile Division before her retirement. Alma was a member of the Fairfield Golden Ages Group, amongst other groups and activities. She enjoyed spending time with her beloved family, and cooking for them around the holidays, especially her famous eggplant parmesan.
Alma was preceded in death by her parents, Nick and Olympia Salvatore, as well as her beloved husband, Fred, her sister Angela Eckert and her husband John, and her brother Emmett Salvatore. She is survived by her loving children, Fred Pollock and his wife Jeanette, Sharon O'Brien and her husband Thomas, and William N. Pollock; her grandson William A. Pollock; her sisters Dolores Salvatore-Shenocca and her husband Charles, Sheila Borgos and her husband George, and her sister-in-law Catherine Salvatore. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 19 from 3-7 p.m. at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, Livingston. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Saturday, February 20 at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Fairfield, with interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alma's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Wounded Warrior Foundation, or the Shriners Hospitals for Children. The family would like to thank Dr. Deborah Schnurr for her care through the years, and Alma's health aide, Edith Hiraldo, for everything she has done for Alma and the family.

Alma, I just thought of you
95 years this is wonderful.
Alma was my Supervisor at Essex County Juvenile Division (Old Court House 1990-1994.) Alma knew when you were missing from your desk and would let you know. Thank you for our time shared Alma, I’m Forever Grateful for You.
Family, I’m the young lady that spoke at Mom/Grandma’s Retirement Party
A young 20 year old during this time
and now a young Retired Law-Enforcement Officer, 2016 at the age of 42...Alma was a major part of my circle who inspired me. What a “Gem” you all had, she loved you so; her Grandson, Grandma would clean your picture she kept on her desk everyday; A GrandMother’s Love. Just a couple of “Fond Memories” of Alma; I have so many that’s forever in my heart
God Bless Alma, God Bless you all.

Alma was such an adorable, sweet, considerate, and kind person. She was loved by everyone in our group. I am a Golden Ager and I have been on many outings with her on the Fairfield town bus. She will forever be in heart ❤!
