Bennie Ray Moser
Sweetwater - Bennie Ray Moser, age 76, of Sweetwater, passed away January 11, 2021 following a short illness. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Raper for 56 years. He served with several civic organizations. He was on the Sweetwater City School Board for 21 years and was a Monroe County Commissioner for 16 years. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and the Optimist Club for many years. He volunteered in the Sweetwater Youth Football program for many years.
He was a member of the Sixth Avenue Church of God and served on the council there for 25 years. He worked for Newman's Grocery and Smith and Woods Food Center for a total of 45 years and retired as manager there.
Bennie loved the Sweetwater community and his family very deeply.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Erskin and Volena Moser, daughter, Sharon Moser Jenkins, sister, Wanda Christine, brothers, Lloyd (Bud) Moser, Alfred Moser and Glenn Moser.
Survivors, wife Marilyn Moser, Sons, Sam Moser and wife Kelly, Ben Moser and wife Shannon, all of Sweetwater, son in law, Robert Jenkins of Sweetwater, TN. Grandsons Laint Moser and wife Catie, of Johnson City, TN and Morgan Moser of Bristol, Va., sister, Shirley Holloway and husband Bob of Cleveland, TN, sisters in law, Betty Jo Moser, of Madisonville, TN and Mireille Moser of Chicago, IL.
Viewing will be on Friday, January 15, 2021 from 1:00 P.m. until 4:00 P.m. at Kyker Funeral Homes, Sweetwater. No family will be present. A private service will conducted by Rev. Brian Strugill and Rev. Floyd Oliver. Graveside service and interment will be conducted on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in the Sweetwater Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations maybe made to the Sweetwater Youth Football and Cheerleading: 704 Stratford Ave. Sweetwater, TN 37874.
