Christine Carpenter Obituary

Christine Marie Carpenter left this world and entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. Beloved daughter of Zu and Nanette Stephens Carpenter. Granddaughter of the late Clarence and Doris Carpenter, Earl (Steve) Stephens and Cora Stephens Sicard and Step-Grandaughter of Jerry Sicard. Sister of Stephanie Lott (Cory), Jenni Guidry (Ched), Kevin Carpenter (Jenny) and Rachel Kramer (the late Michael Kramer, Jr.). Beloved Aunt of Shelby Swear (Daniel), Mason Lott, CiCi, Jacob, Daniel and Georgia Guidry, Austin, Grayson and Isabel Carpenter, and Kale Kramer. Great Aunt of Archer and Graham Swear. Goddaughter of Earl (Dickie) Stephens and Ranell Sturm. Christine was the very loving and devoted Godmother of Daniel Guidry. She attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help elementary school in Belle Chasse, Louisiana and she graduated from Immaculata High School in Marrero, Louisiana. She also completed a two year program at West Jefferson Vocational School and received a certificate in accounting. Despite Christine's physical disability and limitations she worked for the Jefferson Parish School System for 14 years as a Clerk and was an Avon consultant. Christine was an active member of the H.E.C. (Handicapped Encounter Christ Organization) for many years. She was an usher at Mass at Our a lady of Perpetual Help Church in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. She also assisted in the Parish School of Religion Program. She completed the Plaquemines Parish Citizens Police Academy and became a member. Christine was very fond of doing arts and crafts and had a gift for drawing and painting. She was a native of Gretna, Louisiana and for the past three and a half years was a resident of Riverbend Nursing and Rehab Center in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. Relatives and friends of the family also, parishioners of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Belle Chasse, LA and the staff of Riverbend Nursing and Rehabilitation Center are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Belle Chasse, LA on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 12noon. Visitation will be held at the church from 9am until 12noon. Interment, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery, Belle Chasse, LA. All those attending must wear face masks. Family and friends may view and sign the online guest book at www.mothefunerals.com.
