Dorothy "Peg" Jacoby
Indian Wells, CA - Dorothy "Peg" Jacoby, 98, daughter of Gertrude Price Antill and Charles Antill, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2020 with her beloved family by her side.
Peg was born May 25, 1921 in Crewe, England. After immigrating to the United States as a child, Peg and her parents settled in Jersey City, New Jersey. During World War II, Peg joined the Red Cross. While stationed in India, Peg met her beloved husband, Charles "Chuck" Jacoby. She often spoke of her time in India and the wonderful people she met there.
Peg and Chuck nurtured their 63-year marriage with their incredible senses of humor. Peg cherished the friends and memories she made in the Chicago area, St. Louis, and Indian Wells, California. In Indian Wells, Peg and Chuck were known for their fabulous Bob Hope Desert Classic golf tournament party.
Peg's husband, Chuck, and son, Charles Jr., preceded her in death. Her daughter, Diane Jacoby; grandson, Robert Jacoby; her cherished sisters-in-law, Geri and Kaye and brother-in-law Bill Jacoby; her devoted caregiver, Nancy Santos; and many loving nieces, nephews, friends and family members survive her.
Interment is in St. Catherine's Cemetery in Hagaman, Ill. Services and celebrations will be held when it is safe for friends and family to come together to honor Peg's incredible life. For those who wish to do so, memorial contributions may be sent to ecolifeconservation.org or a charity of your choice.
