I didnt know Grover, but I was also born at Phoebe Putney Hospital in Albany, GA in 1943. I lived there until I married in 1966. Its still a small town and theres a connection between those who lived there and always surprising when you cross paths with someone from there especially here in Texas. We have lived here since 1975. We have loved here and its home, but the red clay of Georgia remains with me as I imagine it did with Grover. My sympathies to his family.

I have known Grover my entire life, one of my Dads best friends and like a father figure to me. Grover was one of the kindest and gentlest men I have ever known! He was a incredible family man and example!! The world is not the same without him, He will be missed greatly!

I worked for Mr. Livingston for 14 years at The Dallas Morning News, the last few with Grover as my direct manager in the IT department. Mr. Livingston was a true Texas gentleman, family man and professional. He taught me so much in my time working for him, notably the importance of studying both the efforts that went right and those that went wrong, so that you could learn and advance on both. More than any other manager in my career, Grover dedicated a part of each of his day on mentoring his team.
But as much as any professional interaction, I'll remember his love of his family, his love of fine dining, the irony of our shared last name, and his stories around the round table in his office. I remember his great pride in playing two-on-two basketball games with Byron, his joy with Jan, and of his travels and experiences.
Jan/Byron, my heart hurts for you and your family on your loss, but I hope you have found comfort in knowing how many people he touched. Grover was truly -- as you say -- one of a kind.
