Not sure what to say?

Jackie- we worked together in the late 80´s prior to me moving. I read about your son and am so very sorry. He clearly was a very talented and terrific young man. I hope you have peace until you see him again.

Hello Jackie,
I just happen to stumble upon different articles about your son while surfing my computer and I couldnt help but want to write you and tell you how sorry i am for your loss. Your son sounded like he was a great kid. The way i believe is as tragic as these things are to us, your son is in a beautiful place on the other side and is happy. It's us on the earth that have to learn how to deal with that pain. I hope your able to feel a peaceful feeling at this time.
My deepest sympathy.

Dear Jackie, I did not know your son, but can tell, by the video his friends made as memorial to Jeffrey, that he made a difference in this world. My heart is broken, thinking of your loss as I have an only child, a son the same age as Jeffrey. You are in our prayers. I know Jeffrey is already by God's side and both are watching over you.

Dear Mrs. Stevenson,
No child's death has affected me as much as your son's. Although we did not know each other, I'm sure we were at many of our sons' school functions at the same time. I am Ben's mother.
From kindergarten at Riverside (your son had Mrs. Rodruan in the morning, Ben was in the afternoon), thru 3 years at Davis, 4 years at Scioto, and now college roommates, I had the privilege of seeing your son mature into a productive adult, one who would contribute positively to society in the future.
I remember seeing him skateboard in the old neighborhood, observing his wonderful artwork at school, and many times recently seeing him and his "messy" room (especially since his was in the front of the house) during my visits to Ben at the rental on 8th. The other 3 boys' rooms were just as messy but their's are upstairs.
I get tears in my eyes and choke-up everytime I think of Jeff and the tragedy that has been put upon you.
I am so happy CCAD is hosting the visitation for Jeff this afternoon- such a fitting tribute attesting to the school's affection for your son.
May God keep you in his heart and watch over you at this difficult time.

Dear Jackie, We lost our son Scott in 1998. He was my only biological child and I know your pain. My heart breaks for you. I want you to know about some resources that I found to be helpful—my Bible, Compassionate Friends, Grief Share at Scioto Ridge United Methodist Church on Dublin Rd., south of Davidson Rd.; and Barbara Jo Dennison, PHD, LISW. I know that Compassionate Friends is on the Internet where you can get details. This group meets at the Ascension Church at Karl and Morse Roads. I think on the second Tuesday of each month. This group is comprised of parents that have lost a child--the most painful loss I have known. These people know what you are going through and the group had a couple who had lost their young adult son to a hit-and-run driver while riding on a bicycle, just like your Jeffrey. The second resource is Grief Share at Scioto Ridge UMC and meets once a week. This group is for all who are grieving and has a spiritual basis. The third resource is a wonderful counselor I must tell you about. Barbara Jo "Joey" Dennison. She helped me move forward from my grief as I was stuck in my journey and could not seem to recover from the depression I had been for so many years. I highly recommend her to anyone who has lost a child. You may reach Barbara Jo Dennison at 614-888-8440. Her office is at 97 South Liberty Street, Powell OH 43065. If you are not a member of a church, I would like to invite you to visit Scioto Ridge United Methodist Church on Dublin Road. If you need a shoulder or anything I can help you with, please feel free to call me at 614-777-0572--I am Suzanne Mates.

Our kids grew up together here in the "hood." Jeff was Doug's BFF through elementary school and till now as college roommates. Jeff inspired people without meaning to. He had talent, dreams, always worked hard and stayed positive. From now on we will think: "WWJD?" when we are feeling lazy or having a bad day! He was a fourth son to me, but sadly your only. We are all here for you Jackie, for the duration. I am just SO SO sorry for your loss. Love, Page

Jackie,
Jeff was at our house or Marc was at yours all the time during their high school years. One small memory of them growing up, and their need for cash for skateboard parts was their jobs at the Halloween store marching up and down Sawmill Rd. in a Bowling Ball and Bowling Pin costumes! When I asked them why they quit, they had the answer down pat "just too humiliating". The world has lost a great sensitive talent, that talent must have been needed elsewhere, but our loss hurts. Jeff will always be in our thoughts and you in our prayers.
