Jan was a lifelong resident of Gardendale, Alabama. She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly sixty-three years, Harvey Fields; her loving daughters, Jennifer Fields (Steve McGinty and son Alex McGinty) and Lauren Fields Gough (Steve Gough); her precious grandson, Fischer Harvey Gough; nephew, David Mitchell III; niece, Gina Posey Bain; and great-niece, Tiffany Mitchell Wiginton. Jan was a graduate of Mortimer Jordan High School, class of 1953, where she fell in love with her one true love. She married Harvey in 1958. She was an amazing mother and adoring grandmother. She was an indispensable partner in her husband's business, A-1 Pest Control, for more than fifty years. She is a faithful member of the Lord's church, and she worshipped at Mount Olive Church of Christ. She is preceded in death by her parents, Quinton David Mitchell Sr. and Mary Alice Mitchell, her brother, David Mitchell Jr., and her sister, Jean Mitchell Posey. Jan is loved and missed by her family and her wonderful caregivers, Jennifer Goodson, Tina Harris, Julie Burr, and Keshia Reid, who alongside her daughter Jennifer, took exceptional care of her. The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to them for their love and attentiveness. The family extends a special thank you to Comfort Care in Jasper for the love and support they have provided for many years and to UAB Gereatric Housecall. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Michael J. Fox Parkinson's Foundation are appreciated. It is fitting that she left us for her heavenly home on Valentine's Day as love was her most defining quality.
