Rita A. (Pellerin) Skarin
Worcester - Rita A. (Pellerin) Skarin, 93, of Worcester, died Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the Holy Trinity Nursing & Rehab Center.
Her husband of 53 years, retired Worcester Police Captain Harold J. Skarin, died in 1999.
She leaves three children, Patricia A. Camarra and her husband Louis of Worcester, Francis H. Skarin and his fiancée Mary Ann McCarthy of Chelmsford, and Lynda M. Quinn and her husband James of Forest, Va.; four grandchildren, Kim and Andrew Almstrom, Jessica O'Connor and Brenden M. Quinn; and three great-grandchildren, Michael and Mathew Almstrom, and Samantha O'Connor.
Rita's brothers, Joseph and George J. Pellerin, predeceased her.
She was born in Sanford, Maine, daughter of Oscar and Emerilda (Compagne) Pellerin. She grew up in Clinton, and moved to Worcester after her marriage in 1947. She summered in Eastham for many years.
Rita was a graduate of Clinton High School and attended the Wilfred Academy for Hairdressing in Boston.
Rita owned and operated the Madamoiselle Beauty salon in Clinton for many years.
Rita was devoted to her family.
Rita's family offers many thanks to Specialty Home Care Services, especially to her devoted stay at home caregiver Rebecca Nsiah, and to Holy Trinity Nursing & Rehab Center where she spent her final days.
Calling hours are Wednesday, April 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral service will be Thursday, April 28, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester.
Flowers may be sent or donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
