Robbie Barton Neill
Hickory, NC - Robbie Barton Neill, age 88, of Hickory, N.C. passed away January 6th, 2021 at Kingston Residence of Hickory.
Robbie was born February 15th, 1932, a daughter of the late Andrew and Mamie Barton. She also was preceded in death by a sister Ruth Barton Parris.
Surviving are sons Edward Neill (Rita) and Lynn Neill (Robin); daughters Joan Neill (Todd) and Myra Neill Johansen; grandchildren Clay Neill (Donna), Leigh Ross (Drew), Clayton Johansen, Hattie Johansen, Andrew Neill, Hamilton Neill and Ellington Neill; great grandchildren Mary Grace Neill, Spencer Neill, Neilly Ross, and Charlie Ross. Also surviving are a nephew Charles Parris Jr. (Judy) and a niece Patricia Conard (Joseph).
Robbie was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Hickory. She graduated with a degree in education from Lenoir Rhyne University and obtained her master's degree from Appalachian State University. She was a retired teacher with the Catawba County Public Schools. Robbie was creative, dedicated, loving and kind. She will be missed by all that knew her.
A private graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery, officiated by Associate Pastor Jennifer Forrester. A Celebration of Life will be held on a later date.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Carolina Caring, First United Methodist Church, and the staff of Kingston Residence.

With deepest sympathy to all in the passing of your dear Mother but believing she is in heaven free of pain and sorrow. I've known Robbie many years having taught second grade with her at Mtn. View for a long time. We had many lunches together in retirement also. Love, Rachel
