Robert L. "Bob" Weeks, 89 of Lecompton, died Thursday, June 3, 2021 at his home. "Bob" was born September 13, 1931 at Lawrence, the son of Fred E. SR, and Ruby May Black Weeks. He attended Lecompton High School through his junior year. He then joined the U.S. Army. When he returned from the Korean War, he finished his High School education at Topeka High School. He is a longtime member of Perry American Legion Post #142. He was a self employed carpenter and construction worker, working as a contractor for many different companies, retiring in 1994. He served as sexton and cemetery board member of Maple Grove Cemetery for many years and was a member of the Lecompton Historical Society.
He married Doris June Wilson on May 15, 1952 at Bentonville, AR, She preceded him in death on July 25, 2020. He is survived by one son, Rick (Pam) Weeks, Oskaloosa, one daughter, Marla (Tim) Bailey, Oskaloosa, seven grandchildren, Wade (Brianne) Cottrell, Wesley (Marcie) Cottrell, Jacob (Carmelle) Cottrell, Amber (Dany) Guzman, Beau (Sarah) Lauber, Cody Lauber and Christina Lauber, 12 great-grandchildren, Cecilia, Finn, Andrew, Madison, Addison, Berlynn, Landon, Ellabelle, Nova, Aurora, Elijah, and Avery. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Weeks in 1976, two granddaughters, Crystal Weeks and Cassie Weeks in 2001, two brothers and three sisters.
A Memorial Grave Side Service with Military Honors will be 3:00 PM, Friday, June 11, 2021 at Maple Grove Cemetery, Lecompton.
