MOUNT CARMEL - Ronald Lloyd Davis, 72, of 39 S. Hickory St., passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at his home.
He was born Sept. 5, 1948, in Berwick, a son of the late Samuel Davis and Jean (Witchey) Davis.
He was a 1967 graduate of Bloomsburg High School.
Ronald served in the United States Army from April 1968 until April 1971. He served one tour in Vietnam from May 1969 to April 1970. He received the following citations; the Vietnam Service Medal with three bronze service stars, the National Defense Medal; the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Sharpshooter Rifle Badge.
Following his enlistment in the service, he was employed for many years as a meat cutter for Acme Markets until his retirement.
He was married in Frackville on Dec. 28, 1974, to the former Susan Chappell, who survives.
He was a member of Hope Community Church, Mount Carmel, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.
In addition to his wife of forty-six years, Susan Davis, he is survived by one son, Ron Davis, Jr. and his wife, Misty, of Nazareth; a daughter, Heather Davis-Jenkins and her husband, Dan, of Harrisburg; three grandchildren, Evan, Alexa and Emma Davis; a brother, James Davis and his wife, Cheryl, of Danville; a sister, Lisa Stout Zion Grove; a niece, Natasha Stout; and three grand-pups, Nhana, Jerico and Keva.
DAVIS - Ronald Davis, 72, of 32 S. Hickory St., Mount Carmel. Religious services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the Hope Community Church with the Rev. Daniel Renno, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington. A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
