Rosalia S. Mendoza
El Paso - Rosalia "Chalia" S. Mendoza 89, passed away peacefully at her home, after a brave 11 year battle with Parkinson's disease on Sunday, March 28, 2021. She was born on September 3, 1931. She was a life long resident of El Paso, Tx and an alumnus of Bowie High School where she graduated in the top 10 % of her class of 1950. She was employed with the City of El Paso Engineering Department, Traffic Violations Bureau and Municipal Court until her retirement in 1994. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Martin Mendoza, her son Martin Enrique (Marty) Mendoza and Grandson Mateo Martin (Matthew) Mendoza. She is survived by her sons George Oscar Mendoza (wife Terry), Andrew Mendoza (wife Charlotte), Victor Mendoza, Ruben Mendoza (wife Symantha) , daughter-in-law Mary Mendoza, thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will take place Monday April 19, 2021 from 1pm to 5pm at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 North Carolina Drive, with the praying of the Rosary at 3pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday April 20, 2021 at St. Raphael Church, 2301 Zanzibar Road at 1130am, with Interment to follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. Her pallbearers will be Dante Mendoza, Sebastian Mendoza, Christian Mendoza, Brian Mendoza, Noah Mendoza and Alec Mendoza. Honorary Pallbearers Cris Mendoza, Riley Reijnaert and Martin Lopez. The family would like to express special thanks to her longtime caretaker Maria Amparo Valdez, Senior Companion Rosa Maria Mestas from Centro de Salud Familiar La Fe, Fr. Tony Celino, Dr. Barbara Reeves, Gina Mongeur R.N., Carmen Rivas C.N.A and the staff of Hospice of El Paso.

Rosalía ""Chalia"" S. Mendoza, de 89 años, falleció pacíficamente en su hogar luego de una valiente batalla de 11 años contra la enfermedad de Parkinson el domingo 28 de marzo del 2021. Nació el 3 de septiembre de 1931. Fue residente de El Paso, Texas durante toda su vida, y ex alumna de Bowie High School, donde se graduó entre el 10% superior de su clase de 1950. Trabajó en el Departamento de Ingeniería de la Ciudad de El Paso, la oficina Traffic Violations Bureau y con la Corte Municipal hasta que llegó a su jubilación en 1994. Le precedieron en muerte su esposo por 65 años, Martín Mendoza, su hijo Martín Enrique (Marty) Mendoza y su nieto Mateo Martín (Mateo) Mendoza. Le sobreviven sus hijos: George Oscar Mendoza (esposa Terry), Andrew Mendoza (esposa Charlotte), Víctor Mendoza, Rubén Mendoza (esposa Symantha), su nuera Mary Mendoza, sus trece nietos y seis bisnietos. El velorio se llevará a cabo el lunes 19 de abril del 2021 de 1:00 p.m. a 5:00 p.m. en Hillcrest Funeral Home, en el 1060 North Carolina Drive, con el rosario a las 3:00 p.m. La misa fúnebre se llevará a cabo el martes 20 de abril del 2021 en la iglesia de San Rafael, en el 2301 Zanzibar Road a las 11:30 a.m. y el sepelio proseguirá en el cementerio nacional de Fort Bliss. Sus portadores del féretro serán: Dante Mendoza, Sebastián Mendoza, Christian Mendoza, Brian Mendoza, Noah Mendoza y Alec Mendoza. Los portadores de honor son: Cris Mendoza, Riley Reijnaert y Martín López. La familia quisiera expresar un agradecimiento especial a su cuidadora María Amparo Valdez, la compañera principal Rosa María Mestas del Centro de Salud Familiar La Fe, al Padre Tony Celino, Dra. Barbara Reeves, Gina Mongeur R.N., Carmen Rivas C.N.A y al personal de Hospice of El Paso. Siempre llevaremos tu recuerdo en nuestros corazones.

Our deepest condolences to the family. Rosalie was a beautiful friend of my parents. Both her and Martin joined us at many of our family celebrations. Rosalie will be missed. She was a beautiful woman and had a gracious and tender soul. God bless the Mendoza family during this heartfelt time.
