SHARON TABOR-SMITH An angel among us, Sharon Elaine Tabor-Smith, made her way home to her heavenly father on March 8, 2020. Born on January 7, 1947 in Las Vegas, NV, she is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Josephine Tabor, and sister, Diane. Sharon graduated from Bishop Gorman High school in 1965. She met the love of her life, Horrace Smith, during her junior year, and they both went on to graduate from Brigham Young University. An Elementary School Education major, Sharon served 27 dedicated years as an elementary school teacher in the Clark County School District. Horrace and Sharon married in Las Vegas in 1970 and shared a beautiful life together that was deeply rooted in a love for their family. She is survived by her husband of 50 years and her eternal companion, Horrace. She was a loving mother to three daughters; Allison (Vincent), Meredith (Travis) and Lindsay (James), adoring grandmother/Nana to her seven grandchildren, Emma, Mason, Audrey, Colin, Jake, Alexander and Brooke, and a devoted sister to her brother, David (Jan). It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye at this time but have peace knowing that we will all be joined again in heaven. As a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 9 AM at the LDS Church (Palmyra Ward). Visitation will be prior to the service at 8 AM at 1801 S. Monte Cristo Way, Las Vegas, NV 89117.

I miss you my beloved Cousin, but you’re with me always in my heart. We loved growing up together. We shared many interests, especially singing together in harmony...beautifully I might add. I loved seeing your Big, tall Texan Horrace this Fall and visiting your grave.

My family was deeply saddened by Sharon's passing. My three sons enjoyed coming to your home and always being welcomed. Later on they were privileged to be taught by Coach. One time I was inspired to ask Sharon to participate in a Relief Society lesson. I asked her to tell her story of why She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I taught many lessons but I will never forget the spirit that she directed that day. She was a special spirit.

Coach Smith: What a great service . You have an amazing family and support group. Sharon and yourself have got to be very proud of your girls. In your talk at the service you mentioned that your legacy was your children. It is important For you to realize that your legacy is much more than just your children you raised at home. You raised a lot of other children on the football field. You are truly admired by all of your children. Sharon, I am sure, made sacrifices, so you could spend so much time with us. The lessons we learned on the football field will last us a lifetime. Things like; that team over there is no different then you. They put their jocks on one leg at a time. You are a great father, leader, motivator, coach and person. You could not have accomplished all of these things without a great woman by your side. May Sharon rest in piece . Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Coach,
We are so sorry for your loss but truly know that your faith will carry you through. You are such an important part of our experiences in our youth and in teaching us how to live a good life and be better men. We know that role required a lot of time spent away from your own family....and a very understanding and supportive wife... We were the beneficiaries of that sacrifice.Thank you. We love you and hope and pray the Lord's blessing on you and your family.

I'm so sorry, Horrace. I lost my companion seven months ago yesterday.
It is still difficult everyday but I am sustained by memories, family and friends. She was a beautiful blessed woman. Our joys in heaven will be so wonderful. I am praying for you. I know it will be hard, but she will watch over as Jed has me.

Sharon, my dear cousin. I've always loved you so much. We grew up together with you in Nevada & me in Texas. We both loved, The Lady & the Tramp & West Side Story where we did our version of the songs & dance. Later we enjoyed singing songs of The Everly Bro's in harmony. We actually were good. Your whole family was very special to me, Uncle Clyde, Aunt Jo, & cousin David. And then Horrace when he entered your life. Rest In Peace, sweet, kind, loving Mother of 3 beautiful daughters. I'll see you in the Sweet Bye & Bye.
(one of Grandma Tabor's songs).
