GLEN LYON — Tina Scarantino, 89, of Ken Pollock Apartments, Glen Lyon and former longtime resident of West Kirmar Avenue, Alden Station, passed away early Thursday morning, July 6, 2017, at Guardian Elder Care Center, Sheatown.
Born in Wanamie, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Kozik) Liput. Tina resided in Newport Township her entire life and graduated from the former Newport Township High School and Wilkes-Barre Business College.
Prior to retiring, she was employed as a seamstress in the local garment industry. She was a member of St. Faustina Kowalska Parish and the former Holy Trinity Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 63 years, Philip Scarantino, on Nov. 15, 2012.
Surviving are daughters, Rose Maria Argento and husband, John, of Yatesville, and Leanne Bush and husband, Donald, of Nanticoke; grandchildren, Gina Kerbaugh and husband, Dennis, Maria Oliveri and husband, Joseph, Jason Bush and fiancée, Sarah Newell, and Jill Sando and husband, Michael; great-grandchildren, Joseph Oliveri and Connor Sando; a brother, Leroy Liput and wife, Nancy, of Reno, Nev.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin Monday at 10:30 a.m. from Davis-Dinelli Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, main site, 520 S. Hanover St., Nanticoke, with the Rev. James R. Nash as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Glen Lyon. Viewing and visitation will be at the funeral home Monday from 9 a.m. until transferal to the church.
In lieu of flowers, her family suggests contributions in Mrs. Scarantino's memory be made to your favorite charity.

MY mother (Dolores) & I are very sad over the loss of Tina. She was a good friend to my mother and me. she always made me laugh. We will miss her a lot. God Bless you Tina! Love you!
