Growing up in Richmond Hill was a great blessing. Back in the day I knew Vernon when Angie and Stacey were young, and I babysat them. I fondly remember Vernon singing in the choir at First Baptist. He often sang a solo of a song that might bring comfort as you morn. " Many things about tomorrow, I don't seem to understand, but I know who holds tomorrow, and I know who holds my hand." I am grateful to have know the Rushing family and I know that today Vernon is holding the hand that held him all these years. Peace to you.

I'll always remember the time Vernon volunteered for karaoke on one of our many 165th trips together. He sang "unchained melody". We were blown away. I'll miss him. He took me under his wing in those days and I really admired him and looked up to him. He was truly a great and genuine soul. May God bless the Rushing family during this time.

Gail and Family, even though we did not expect Vern to leave us so soon I do know that he is at peace-now as your family and us all grieve he's looking on us to not make a fuss over him. He and I had a great time growing up together and mentoring each other, as we traveled through life- early on in church we stood by each other from being Baptized at same time and joining RHFD at same time - we started the EMS program for Bryan County and we both continued to give 26+ years there and We started the first S.O.Possee for Bryan co. We both were Charter members of The National Exchange Club. Always giving was our goal- even when it required us to watch our family grow up in pictures. A wonderful friend for life, as we double dated etc.early on and helped countless people and patients in our service, with very few Thank you's I love him for being there for me and a honest faithful friend to the very end. Thank you family for sharing him with us- Thank you Vernon !
