DAWSON, Durward B. "Dee", " 91, of Tampa passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Melech Hospice. He was born in Ft. Gay and came here in 1957 from Huntington WV. He was a member of Manhattan Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Dee was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served during WW II. He enjoyed travelling, birds, coin collecting and civil war history. He was predeceased by his first wife, Frances; his second wife: Jo; and his brother: Bobby K. Dawson. He is survived by his sister: Patricia Allen (Don) of Columbus, OH; step-daughter: Nancy Bradley (Paul) of Wesley Chapel, FL; step-son: Robert Emkens of Jacksonville; Grandson: David Odette of Waterville, OH; Granddaughters: Cathy Odette of Welcome, NC; Kimberly Dinkins of Jacksonville; niece: Donna Allen; Great Nephews: Matt and Aaron Elmore of Columbus, OH. Memorial Gathering will be on Sunday, March 16th from 2-3 pm at Manhattan Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 pm.
