Gladys Castell Bakke Johnson of Clifton, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at Goodall Witcher Health Care Center. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with the Rev. Joan Iker officiating. The burial service will follow at 2 p.m. at Rock Church Cemetery.
Gladys was born July 5, 1926, in the Norse community of Bosque County, Texas, to Olee and Cora Bakke. Gladys has been a lifelong Lutheran and a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Waco.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; and two brothers.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, B. A. Johnson; her daughter, Charlene of San Antonio; and sons, Charles and wife, Lori, of Cranfills Gap, and Gary and wife, Rose, of Belmont, Calif.; granddaughter, Jessica and husband, Tony, of Frisco; three great-grandchildren, Erin, Matthew and Nathan; brother, Olee Bakke of Clifton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Rock Church Cemetery Association of Cranfills Gap, or Lutheran Sunset Ministries of Clifton.
