Glenda Reed HICKORY Glenda Rhoney Reed, 80, of Vale, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2013, at her residence. Mrs. Reed was born April 29, 1933, in Catawba County, to the late Clarence and Ethel Brittain Rhoney. She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Cooksville. Survivors include her children, Randy Reed, Sandy Smith, Terry Reed, Jimmy Reed, Cindy Reed and Donna Reed, all of Vale; three sisters, Ruth Shull, Wanda Walker and husband, Ken and Joyce Walker and husband, Gary; a brother, Donald Rhoney, all of Vale; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a number of nephews and nieces and great-nephews and great-nieces. The funeral service will be held Monday, May 13, at 3 p.m. at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Tony Sayer and William Kanupp officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Monday, from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church, c/o the Cemetery Fund, 8840 Cooksville Rd., Vale NC 28168.
