Harry Hamilton Hall Harry Hamilton Hall, 89, of Rural Retreat, Va., passed away early Thursday, October 17, 2013, at his home. He was born on October 14, 1924, in Rural Retreat, Va., the son of the late Main M. Hall and Ruth Phillippi Hall. Harry was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, American Legion Post # 229 of Rural Retreat, and the Rural Retreat Lions Club. He a past member of the Rural Retreat Fair Association, the Wytheville Community College Local Board, the Board of Directors of the Bank of Speedwell, a member of the Wythe County Chamber of Commerce, served as a Mt. Rogers ASAP representative and had served on many other local county committees. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Sarah Mercer Hall; children, Karen Hall Dykes of Ringgold, Ga., Harry Michael Hall and wife, Teresa of Unionville, Va.; grandchildren, Casey and Heather Hall, Cory Allen Hall, Anna Dykes, and Jacob Dykes; great-granddaughter, Kenley Christine Hall; brother, John Hall of Rural Retreat, Va.; special caregivers, Ann Barton, Frankie Wright, Barbara Hall, Jennifer Reasor, and June Huffard; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, October 20, 2013, at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Jonathan Hamman and Vicar Beth Hawk officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery with Military Rites being conducted by American Legion Post # 229 of Rural Retreat. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until service time. The family requests that those who prefer may make memorials to Grace Lutheran Church. Lindsey Funeral Home, Rural Retreat, Va., is serving the Hall Family.
