Horace L. Manning
Horace Leon Manning, 56, of Monticello's Wacissa Community passed on Wednesday, October 11, 2017. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Bethpage M.B. Church, with burial in Bethpage Cemetery. Viewing-visitation is 3-7 p.m. Saturday at TILLMAN OF MONTICELLO 850-997-5553. Horace had been a longtime employee with the City of Tallahassee's Parks and Recreation Dept. and with Leon County Schools. He was a member of Bethpage Church. Cherishing his love, life and legacy are his son, Horace L. Manning II; brothers, Rev. Moderator Issac (Minister Constance) Manning, Jr., Wilbur (Regina) and Dwayne Manning; sisters, Dr. Pam (Dr. Pink Jr.) Hightower, Willie Mae Manning, Patricia Manning (Cornelius) Jackson and Lisa (Bishop Alvin) Stewart. Horace was predeceased by his parents, Issac Sr. and Betty Jane Parker Manning and sister, Lola Manning Hightower.

Another gentle spirit gone to be with the Lord. I will miss you Pokey. I know you are at rest now; no more pain or suffering; no more worries or troubles. You are with the Wonderful Counselor who gives you eternal peace. Rest on now; I will see you in the Rapture.
Peace and love to the family members. I know it hurts so bad to lose a family member but we must release them and let their spirits go back to God who gave it. I was Pokey's former mother-in-law 30 years ago and he was always a gentle, kind, sweet and helpful person.
