RIPA, KATHLEEN F., 51 - of Millstone Township, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday November 26, 2005 in the care of her husband and family after a courageous battle with metasized breast cancer.Kathleen was born January 2, 1954 at the Philadelphia Naval Hospital, Philadelphia, PA; Attended Grammar school at St. Dorothy's, Drexel Hill, PA and in 1966 graduated from Penncrest high school in Media, PA. It was while attending high school that she developed an interest in nursing as a career. She attended the University of North Carolina-School of Nursing and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing In 1970.Mrs. Ripa was a resident of Media, PA, before moving with her family to Ocean City, 28 years ago. In the summer of 1982 she met her husband, Benjamin, in Ocean City where they were neighbors. After a whirlwind courtship they were married November 27 1982. The result of the marriage gave them two sons: Ryan and Christopher.Mrs. Ripa was a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room at Ormond Reach Memorial Hospital, Ormond Beach FL.; Shore Memorial Hospital, Somers Point, and then became a supervisor of nurses at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Later she went into private practice with Carousel Home Care, Howell. Kathleen was also a substitute nurse at Millstone Township Schools.Mrs. Ripa was a Parishioner of St. Joseph's Church, Perrineville, (Millstone) and was a former team Mother for the Millstone Little league.In addition to her husband and sons, she is survived by: her Parents: Walter and Gerrie (Copes) Mack of Hutchinson Island, FL; one Brother & Sister in-Law: Charles & Kim Mack of Palm City, FL; one Sister and Brother-in-law: Karin M. & Michael Phillips of Kennett Square, PA; also surviving her Father in-law and Mother-in-Law; four Aunts and two Uncles along with three nieces, six nephews and a host of cousins and friends.Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, (Route #524) Freehold Township, on Tuesday November 29, 2005, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM on Wednesday November 30, 2005 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Perrineville, with the Rev. Michael P. Lang, Pastor, Officiating. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, Contributions in her memory may be made to St. Peter's Cancer Center, New Brunswick, NJ or to the Korman Breast Cancer Fund.
