Collins, Kristin J.
Kristin Joan Collins died unexpectedly on December 12, 2016 at her Danbury residence.
Kristin was born during a snowstorm on April 9, 1974 in St. Johnsbury, VT. She graduated from the St. Johnsbury Academy in 1992 and from Hampshire College in 1997. She earned her Master's Degree from Boston University's School of Public Health in 2006.
Kristin's lifelong love of travel began at an early age. During her junior year of high school, she was an exchange student in Stavanger, Norway and before starting college, she spent a year as an au pair in Le Havre, France. From weekend road trips to cross-country travel, she delighted in visiting new places.
Kristin was predeceased by her parents Carroll and Joan Collins. She is survived by her grandmother Pauline Collins of St. Johnsbury, VT; sister Carol Collins; brother-in-law Patrick McCombe and nephew Liam McCombe of Newtown and a large, loving family of aunts, uncles and cousins. Her kindness, compassion and quick wit will be missed by everyone.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2017, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Tarrywile Mansion, 70 Southern Blvd., Danbury. All who knew her are welcome.
Donations in Kristin's memory may be made to The Bridge to Independence and Career Opportunities (TBICO) of Danbury, a nonprofit organization that provides job training and support to unemployed and underemployed people.
