Shelton Crum Obituary

LONGVIEW — Shelton H. Crum, 93, passed away December 26, 2012, at Longview Regional Medical Center. He was born April 14, 1919, in Vallejo, Calif., to Clarence and Jessie Crum. After graduating from high school, Shelton enlisted into the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a staff sergeant and was a participant of the D-Day Normandy invasion.
Shelton met Katherine Giles and they were later married on January 9, 1944, in Fort Worth. In 1947, they moved to Longview where they made their home. Shelton worked for LeTourneau Inc. and retired as a shop foreman after 36 years of faithful service. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star in Fort Worth for more than 65 years.
Shelton is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Katherine Crum of Longview; daughter, Eileen Eberz and her husband, Robert, of Longview; son, Michael Crum and his wife, Linda, of San Antonio; granddaughter, Ashley Miles and her fiancé, Kyle McNeal, of Kilgore; and great-grandson, Kayden McNeal of Kilgore.
Shelton's parents, brothers, Melvin, Jimmy and Raymond Crum and sister, Dorothy Summers all precede him in passing.
There will be a time of visitation from noon-1 p.m. prior to the service, which will start at 1 p.m. today, December 29, 2012, in the mausoleum at Rosewood Park in Longview. Arrangements are under the care of Rader Funeral Home in Longview.
