Not sure what to say?

I just learned about Steven; we are about the same age. May his memory always be for a blessing.

To Steven's family, I do not know you. I have never met you. Your son was an American hero, someone who makes me proud to be an American. Please accept my deepest condolences.

Not knowing your son Steven personally doesn't make a difference. I grieve still for the loss of your son and who he was. My hope is that he will always be remembered for what he accomplished and the love he shared while living.

Out of unspeakable horror comes hope and light. The initiatives of scholarships and policy change will assure that Steven's name when spoken, and his memory, will forever be a blessing!

I had the absolute honor of attending Kimball Union Academy with Steven. The Steven I knew was one of the kindest, funniest, outgoing, most genuine person you could meet. There weren't enough hours in a day for Steve to accomplish everything he wanted, but I can honestly say he lived life to the fullest every single day. He took advantage of everything the world had to offer, and decided he wanted a hand in changing the world we live in. In light of the recent tragedies in Paris and...

Steven will always and lovingly be in our hearts and in our thoughts. His incredible courage and conviction will never be forgotten and will inspire us forever.

Steven was such a sweet and gentle soul who only wanted to tell the story from the point of view of those so deeply affected by conflict. What happened to him and the others is such a tragic event and a constant reminder that it could be anyone's son, child, brother, sister who is cut down for standing up for the innocent. In Steven's case it was because he wanted to share their stories with the rest of us. So proud of you Steven and the man you became. May your memory be for a blessing.

I haven't seen Steven in person since 2009 at my Bat-Mitzvah at the wall in Israel. He was the only guest that attended, and that is very special to me. Not a day goes by that I don't think about him and his courage and inspiring hopes and dreams. In the midst of my first year in college, I aspire to stay determined for success, just like Steven. I hope to see more butterflies around. Miss you, cuz!
