BOON, William G., 90, of Tampa, passed away January 19, 2010, after a lengthy illness. Mr. Boon
was born November 15, 1919, in Darby, Pa., the son of Howard and Ella Boon. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ellen; a brother, Raymond Boon; a sister, Eleanor Strawley of the Philadelphia, Pa., area; daughter, Sandra Johnston (Michael) of Temple Terrace; son, William L. Boon (Shirley) of Winter Garden, Fla.; five grand-children; two great-grand-children; and numerous nieces and nephews. He served in the Ninth Army Air Force 50th Fighter Squadron during World War II. He was retired from both E.I. Dupont and Crown Cork and Seal. He was active in the Masonic Lodge and the Lions Club, an officer for the United Steel workers, and was of the Methodist faith. There will be a graveside service, with well- earned military honors, at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
