Herman was my uncle he was loving, kind, and had the love for Suzy. It was hard yesterday cause I knew him all my life they were together for 36 YEARS! Thats the biggest relationship ever and it could never be breakable.... He is still in our hearts and minds so dont let any bodys words push that out.

I can remember Herman from as far back as I actually can remember. He was my brother's best friend but he was more like another sibling. He was the responsible one lol. Herman was kind, sincere, genuine, loving, trustworthy, sometimes naive (he was looking for the best in everything). He was funny, he was loved and he loved! I know the love he gave my family from years ago up until this day but I watched the love he had for Suzy. It was unbreakable! For his children. They were what life was about. I wasn't there but I would wager that he always had their back. His friends... they weren't just friends, they were family. Herman had the best kind of heart that the Lord can give a man, one without prejudice, without borders, without hate, without the harshness and coldness that most have. He wasn't perfect I'm sure. We all have flaws but he was the kind of man that I will always remember and I'm sure he was the kind of man that his wife will grieve until they are together again. I'm also pretty sure that he was the kind of man that his children will strive to be like and that his friends will miss every time they burn a fire or have a get together. He left us all with great and wonderful memories and my hope is that everyone will always share who Herman Smith was to them and keep his memory fresh, never fading. Herman, tell Donnie we've missed him so and if yall are going to pull out any cardboard boxes to breakdance on, be sure the knick knacks are no where near. Yall were terrible at gluing stuff back together! Enjoy catching up and we will see again brothers ❤❤ Angie

We will always miss you, Herman. Thank you for all you've done for me and the kids especially after Doug died. We don't know what we would have done without you. Rip in Peace forever!
